Florence Clautier-Shank made her presence felt throughout the women's field on a warm November day in Folsom — 74°F with enough humidity to make every mile count. Running at 11:15 per mile, she moved steadily through the women's race, climbing from 68th among women at the first checkpoint to 59th at the second, and ultimately finishing 55th among women. That kind of sustained forward progress tells the story of a composed, well-paced effort across 13.1 miles.

The Mile 10→Finish stretch was where Clautier-Shank put the result beyond doubt. Her 46th-fastest women's split on that closing segment showed she had plenty left in reserve when it mattered, while Jill Trent — running at 14:06 per mile — posted the 91st-fastest women's split over those final miles.
