M30-34 Half Marathon: Sanchez Solana dominates in 1:18:07

• Jaime Sanchez Solana won the M30-34 race in 1:18:07 (5:58/mi), finishing 6:35 ahead of runner-up Dylan Harris.

• 3rd and 4th separated by six seconds: Joubin Mirzadegan (1:26:58) edged Ramon Gilabert (1:27:04), with Gabriel Salinger (1:27:08) just four seconds further back in 5th.
• The top-20 spanned just 18:20 — from Sanchez Solana's 1:18:07 down to David Munoz's 1:36:27 — across a 642-runner M30-34 field.

Jaime Sanchez Solana made the M30-34 race look like a solo time trial. The Culver City runner went out strong and kept climbing the men's standings throughout — moving from 11th to 7th among men overall by the finish — and his 5:58/mi average was in a different gear from everyone else in the field. His closing stretch was equally impressive: he posted the 4th-fastest split among men on the 10.65-mile-to-finish segment, making clear there was no late fade.

The real drama unfolded behind him. Dylan Harris, running the streets of his home city of San Francisco, put together one of the stronger second halves in the field — the 14th-fastest men's second-half split — to move from 26th to 14th among men and claim 2nd in 1:24:42. Joubin Mirzadegan was an even bigger mover: he went from 31st to 21st among men by the finish, and his 17th-fastest men's second-half split helped him nose past Ramon Gilabert (1:27:04, 4th) in a tight battle. Gabriel Salinger rounded out the top five in 1:27:08, just four seconds behind Gilabert after running the fastest 7.12M-to-10.65M split of the group.

From 6th through 10th, Lucas Bunzel (1:29:12), Michael Evans (1:30:21), Blaz Serna (1:30:29), Yifan Wang (1:30:36), and Justin Wasserstein (1:30:40) were packed into a 88-second window — five runners, less than a minute and a half apart. Eric Corcoran (1:31:05) and Elvin Chu (1:31:54) rounded out the top dozen in a field that ultimately stretched 642 finishers deep.
