Oakland's Sheila Jones made the F60-64 race look straightforward, crossing in 29:45 at a 9:35/mi clip on a cool, humid San Francisco morning. That margin — 1:44 over the next finisher — was never in serious doubt. San Francisco's own Sharon Chow ran a composed 31:29 (10:08/mi) to secure 2nd, the only other athlete to break 36 minutes in the field.

The gap from 2nd to 3rd was where the race really spread out. Flora Cheung, also of San Francisco, came home in 35:59 at 11:35/mi to take 3rd, more than four minutes behind Chow but a solid 2:14 ahead of Foster City's Lucy Mao, who finished 4th in 38:13. Jane Huynh (5th, 41:58) and Kathleen Yee (6th, 44:50) continued the steady separation through the middle of the field, with Ofelia Underhill just three seconds back in 7th at 44:53 — the tightest gap of the entire race.

From 8th through 20th, the field bunched into a long, competitive stretch between 46 and 55 minutes, with Latha Sunder (12th, 50:04) and Cherry Lei (13th, 50:05) separated by a single second. All 31 finishers completed the course on a brisk, overcast Bay Area day — a solid showing for the F60-64 cohort at one of the city's marquee summer races.
