Running 7:23 per mile through a warm Sacramento morning — 73°F, clear skies, a light breeze — she crossed in 22:56 and held 15th among all women from the mile mark to the finish line without budging. Her 18th-fastest women's split on that closing stretch confirmed she wasn't just leading on reputation; she was genuinely moving.

Behind her, Maya Hoffstadt (26:13) and Logan Tiska (27:28) locked up the podium, but Tiska made the more interesting case for herself in the final stretch.
