She gained six spots in the women's field on the back half of the course, posting the 198th-fastest women's split on the 1M-to-Finish segment, and she was the clear standout among the four.

The real drama played out behind her. Karen Crick and Judy Shipman ran nearly identical races, separated by just 13 seconds at the finish — Crick taking 2nd in 46:12 and Shipman 3rd in 46:25. Notably, Shipman actually posted the 253rd-fastest women's split on that final stretch, edging Crick's 255th on the same segment, meaning Shipman closed slightly stronger — but Crick's early advantage held, and the gap at the line stayed exactly what it was.
