• The gap from 4th to 5th was dramatic: Lynn Marshall finished 4th in 28:15, while Carolyn Meredith Simpson crossed 5th in 36:08 — a gap of nearly eight minutes.
• Eighteen women from across the Sacramento region finished, ranging from 25:26 to 1:21:02.

Monica Neilson set the tone from the opening mile, working her way through the women's field before locking in her position by the second half. Her 8:11/mi average was the clear class of the F65-69 group, and she posted the 66th-fastest second-half split among all women — a strong finish on a warm Sacramento morning under clear skies and a 14 mph breeze.

Bonita Malone ran a composed, progressive race to earn 2nd in 26:54. She moved steadily from 89th among women at the first checkpoint all the way to 82nd by the finish, and her 2M-to-3M split was the 82nd-fastest among women in the field — a sign she saved something for the closing mile. The back half of the 18-woman group brought its own stories, with Delilah Halpern (Granite Bay, age 67) closing out the field in 18th with a 1:21:02 — every finisher earning their post-race brew on a warm Memorial Day weekend morning.
