Napa Valley Marathon 5K — F18-20: Furnanz Dominates in a Field of Three

Mia Furnanz, 20, from Lafayette, made the F18-20 race her own from the gun. Her 32:30 finish at a 10:28/mi pace left the rest of the field in a different conversation entirely — a gap of nearly 25 minutes to 2nd place is not a close race, it's a statement. On a chilly March morning in Napa, Furnanz was simply in another gear.

Behind her, Kristen Haughey of Granite Bay and Kendelle Steuben of Pleasanton ran a very different race against each other. Haughey, 18, crossed in 57:14 at an 18:25/mi pace to claim 2nd, while Steuben, 19, finished 3rd in 58:56 at 18:58/mi — a gap of 1 minute and 42 seconds separating them. Haughey's faster pace was the difference, holding off Steuben to secure the runner-up spot.

Three finishers, three distinct stories — a runaway win at the front and a genuine two-woman battle for the remaining places. Furnanz takes the F18-20 title with authority, while Haughey and Steuben each earned their finish on a cold Napa morning.
