The 51-year-old from San Francisco crossed in 31:36 at a crisp 10:10/mi pace — a margin of 1:35 over runner-up Jennifer Walker that was never seriously in doubt by the finish. Behind Han, the real drama unfolded in a fierce three-way scramble for the podium. Walker, 53, from Oakland, held 2nd in 33:11, but Akiko Mizuta (Los Altos, 33:17) and Yoko Rivett (San Francisco, 33:22) were right on her heels — just six and eleven seconds back, respectively. Three runners, three different cities, eleven seconds of daylight between them: that's a race within a race. Carrie Wu, 54, added one more competitive layer in 5th at 34:02, and Tina Bogucharova from Bellevue closed out the top six in 34:45.

The field then spread out considerably through the middle of the pack. Janet Wruck (37:20, 7th) and Seni Richmond (38:19, 8th) led a cluster of finishers ranging from 38 to 39 minutes, with Navya Samuel (38:30), Diana Mendez (38:52), Lisa Hung (38:55), and Wing Mei Kwan (39:20) all finishing within a two-minute window of each other. Sandra Dau — racing all the way from Neumuenster — and Tina Schrader rounded out the top 14, before the field stretched into the 42-minute range for positions 15 through 20. All 41 finishers navigated San Francisco's breezy, humid July morning and got it done.
