• Courtney Smith won the F45-49 age group in 1:29:17 (6:49/mi), climbing from 20th among women at the opening 5K checkpoint all the way to 14th by the finish.
• Rachel Northup pushed her hard, finishing 2nd in 1:29:50 — just 33 seconds back — after an identical charge through the women's field, moving from 23rd to 17th.
• Christina Rooney rounded out the podium in 1:30:56, the gap to 2nd a manageable 66 seconds but the gap to 4th a full 3:12 — the top three were in a class of their own.
• Lisa Mcginnis-Buckler delivered the most dramatic surge of the race, vaulting from 83rd among women at the first checkpoint all the way to 37th at the finish — the biggest mover in the group.

On a warm, breezy St. Patrick's Day weekend — 71°F, 17 mph winds, and thick 73% humidity — Courtney Smith of Crozet, VA ran a controlled and confident race. She was already inside the top 25 women by the 5K mark and kept the pressure on, locking into 14th among women by 10K and holding it to the tape. Christina Rooney of West Palm Beach was the strongest in the back half, posting the 15th-fastest women's split from 10K to 15K to secure her podium spot. Meanwhile, Lisa Mcginnis-Buckler quietly put together one of the more impressive performances in the field — her 28th-fastest women's split on the 10K-to-15K leg powered a charge from deep in the pack to 4th place, a finish that belied where she stood at the opening checkpoint.
