M65-69: Felipe Mendoza Runs Away from the Field in Fresno

Behind Mendoza, Herman and Huffman ran a genuine race for the silver. Herman, the oldest finisher on the podium at 69, came in at 37:34; Fresno's own Dennis Huffman answered in 38:07. Thirty-three seconds over 5K is close enough to keep things interesting right to the finish line, and Huffman's 12:16 pace wasn't far off Herman's 12:05.

The middle of the field saw another mini-drama, with Silva and Olino — both from the Fresno area — finishing within 8 seconds of each other for 5th and 6th.
