Stephanie Kelley owned the Masters Women race from start to finish. The 43-year-old Fresno local crossed in 23:14 at 7:29/mi — a commanding effort on a warm November morning in the Central Valley, with temperatures already at 74°F by race time. Jacqueline Schiemer of Clovis gave chase and earned a strong second-place finish in 23:54, running 7:42/mi, but the 40-second gap to Kelley tells the real story: this was a wire-to-wire statement.

The podium closed out with Katie Johnson, also 41, finishing third in 25:56 — a 2:02 gap back to Schiemer that made the top-two a race of their own. Kathy Cervantes, 52, was the top finisher among the older half of the Masters field, placing fourth in 26:26 at 8:30/mi, followed by Mayra Mendoza (50) in fifth at 27:37.

The headline from the middle of the pack belongs to Teri Farnesi. At 70 years old, the Fresno runner crossed in 28:33 — good for 7th place in a 248-woman field — running 9:11/mi. That finish, sandwiched between Leticia Lewis (6th, 28:22) and Lila Flores (8th, 28:44), is simply remarkable.

Further back, the race compressed into a genuine battle. Tami Ribeiro (29:06) and Jessica Benitez (29:07) were separated by a single second at 11th and 12th, with Jen Nelsen (29:14) and Socorro Leal (29:36) keeping the pressure on through the teens. Twenty finishers were named here, but 228 more completed the course — a testament to the depth and enthusiasm of the Masters Women field in Fresno.
