Camille Lessard made the trip from Bromont, QC worthwhile in emphatic fashion, crossing in 23:07 at a 7:26/mi clip to claim the F20-29 title outright. That's a full 1:33 clear of Julia Eisner (24:40, 7:56/mi) — a gap that tells you Lessard, just 21 years old, was running a different race than everyone else in the field. Eisner's 7:56 pace was solid in its own right, but Lessard never gave her a chance to make it a contest.

The next battle was a family affair. Chloe Tzau, 23, and Chelsea Tzau, 20 — both from Lake Forest, IL — ran to 3rd and 4th place in 25:59 and 26:29. The 30-second gap between them is tight, though Chloe's 8:22/mi was meaningfully quicker than Chelsea's 8:31/mi — the older sister held the edge when it mattered.
