Napa Valley 5K — F21-24: Eustice laps the field in a class of her own

• Annamarie Eustice (1st, 21:55) finished more than six minutes ahead of 2nd place — a 7:03/mi pace that stood apart from everyone else in the F21-24 field.
• Meghan Helle (2nd, 28:05) held off a tight mid-pack chase, finishing 36 seconds clear of Christina Delmendo (3rd, 28:41).
• Places 4 through 8 compressed into 29 seconds, from Ailis Nerad's 29:06 to Kayla Ghodsi's 29:35 — the most competitive cluster of the race.
• Tiana Vasquez (20th, 44:28) rounded out a 20-woman field that spanned more than 22 minutes from first to last.

Annamarie Eustice, representing Advance, NC, delivered the defining performance of the F21-24 race on a cool, breezy Napa morning. Her 7:03/mi average put her in a category entirely her own — more than six minutes and a full pace tier ahead of Meghan Helle's 9:02/mi in second. This wasn't a race Eustice won at the wire; she simply ran at a different speed than everyone else in the field.

Behind her, Helle and Christina Delmendo (3rd, 28:41, 9:14/mi) traded the runner-up position over 3.1 miles before Helle came out ahead by 36 seconds. Ailis Nerad (4th, 29:06) was next, and from there the race got genuinely crowded: Jasmine Gary (5th, 29:26), Lexi Laufer (6th, 29:27), Lena Kirsch (7th, 29:33), and Kayla Ghodsi (8th, 29:35) all finished within a single 29-second window. Gary and Laufer were separated by just one second, while Kirsch and Ghodsi clocked the same displayed time of 9:31/mi with Kirsch edging ahead by the timing system.

Ariana Robertson (9th, 30:55) was the last finisher under 31 minutes, then the field spread out through the back half. Carly Thompson (14th, 37:18) was the youngest finisher at 22, and local runner Wendy Santacruz (15th, 38:27) represented Napa itself. Tiana Vasquez closed it out in 44:28 to complete a 20-woman field that ranged across more than 22 minutes of racing — proof that in the F21-24 race, the story was both the runaway at the front and the genuine battle for every place behind her.
