Napa Valley Marathon 5K — F30-34: Gracey pulls clear in a front-running duel

The real story at the front of the F30-34 race was a two-woman breakaway. Gracey and Franklin separated themselves from the rest of the field and traded pace through the cool, breezy Napa morning — 48°F and a 12 mph wind that would have made every second of that 6:38–6:45/mi effort feel earned. When the dust settled, Gracey's 20:36 was the winning margin, and Franklin's 20:59 was a genuinely strong runner-up effort, not a consolation — she finished nearly a minute and a half clear of 3rd place.

Behind them, the race broke into a series of compelling micro-battles. Bohannon and Maxson ran virtually in lockstep to claim 3rd and 4th, their seven-second gap over 3.1 miles representing a race that was decided by the finest of margins. Further back, D'Elia and Cammarata were even tighter — one second apart at the line, both averaging 8:18/mi, with 5th place going to D'Elia by the slimmest of margins.

The field spread out considerably from there, with Nathalie Baker Urroz taking 7th in 27:27 and Ziying Jian 8th in 27:57, before a cluster of finishers between 28 and 30 minutes filled out the top 20. Ana Baltazar rounded out the listed finishers in 20th at 30:55 — with 55 more women completing the course behind her to make it a 75-strong F30-34 showing on the streets of Napa.
