• Rafaela Diaz and Itala Olivari finished 2nd and 3rd in 57:53 and 58:20 respectively — separated by just 27 seconds but both running noticeably slower second halves than the winner.
• Juliana Hanneman (4th, 59:39) faded in the second 5K, dropping from 98th to 109th among women — while Cynthia Decouto (5th, 1:00:54) followed a similar pattern, slipping from 129th to 136th.

Valerie Isaacson-Stock, 57, from Sacramento, owned this age group from start to finish. Her 54:08 wasn't just a comfortable margin over the field — it was a genuinely fast effort, backed by the 37th-fastest second-5K split in the entire women's race. She climbed from 47th to 42nd among all women over that closing stretch, meaning she was reeling in competitors across age groups, not just within her own. At 8:43/mi, she ran a pace that would be respectable in far younger company.

Behind her, Rafaela Diaz of Lincoln and Itala Olivari of Pleasant Hill ran a close but clearly separate battle for the podium. Diaz took 2nd in 57:53 and Olivari 3rd in 58:20 — a gap of 27 seconds that reflects a real difference in pace (9:19/mi vs. 9:23/mi). Both moved up slightly in the women's field during the second half, which is more than can be said for the runners just behind them.

Juliana Hanneman (4th, 59:39) and Cynthia Decouto (5th, 1:00:54) both gave ground in the second 5K — Hanneman dropping from 98th to 109th among women, Decouto from 129th to 136th. Their second-half splits ranked 124th and 140th among all women respectively, a sign that the back end of this course extracted its toll. Carla Santo Domingo rounded out the top six in 1:02:14, with the remainder of the field spread across a wide range through Doreen Muscott's 1:18:12 in 20th and 38 more finishers beyond.
