Ramos held her own for a comfortable silver, but the real drama in the F60-64 age group played out just behind her. Carrie Spencer of Fair Oaks and Nancy Johnson of Sacramento were locked in a fierce battle over the full 10K, arriving at the line in 1:04:19 and 1:04:20 respectively — one second apart. What makes that finish even more compelling is how it got there: both women were buried deep in the women's field at the halfway mark (Spencer 380th, Johnson 382nd among women), then each unleashed a strong second half. Renee Webster-Hawkins (5th, 1:08:55) and Lynne Samaan (6th, 1:09:06) rounded out the top six within 11 seconds of each other, while Carol Rogers (7th, 1:11:36) and Lisa Garcia (8th, 1:11:40) staged their own four-second duel just behind. On a cool, clear March morning in West Sacramento, the F60-64 age group delivered both a wire-to-wire blowout at the front and some of the tightest racing anywhere on the course in the middle of the pack.
